14-Bromodaunorubicin HBr is a chemotherapy drug used in the treatment of certain types of cancer, as well as other diseases. It is an antibiotic and antiparasitic. 14-Bromodaunorubicin HBr is a synthetic compound that inhibits protein synthesis by binding to DNA, which prevents transcription and replication. It also has antiviral properties against HIV and herpes simplex virus. This chemical is classified as natural because it is derived from a natural source, although it does not occur naturally. 14-Bromodaunorubicin HBr has been shown to have antifungal activity against Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Aspergillus fumigatus, among others. 14-Bromodaunorubicin HBr has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria that are resistant to penicillin, ampicillin, and erythromycin.
