Ethyl hept-6-enoate is a macrolactone that is used in the treatment of cancer. It is an analogue of migrastatin, which has anti-cancer properties. Ethyl hept-6-enoate inhibits the growth of tumours by acting as a reactive and synovial cells by inhibiting the synthesis of evodiamine and its analogues. This molecule also acts as an environmental chemical, which may be due to its ability to react with DNA to form covalent adducts.
