- 4,6-Dichloro-o-tolunitrile
- Benzonitrile, 2,4-dichloro-6-methyl-
2,4-Dichloro-6-methylbenzonitrile is an isomer of 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile and has the chemical formula CHCl. It crystallizes in a tetragonal system with a cell parameter of 12.3 Å. The crystal consists of molecules that form two types of dimers: one type has a methylene group at the 4 position and the other type has an isopropyl group at the 4 position. The two types of dimers crystallize in different orientations and these areomers can be distinguished by their molecular structures. There are two possible rotamers for each isomer, which are enantiomers that cannot be superimposed on each other because they differ in orientation around the central carbon atom.END>>
