• Descrição: Insulin is a hormone that regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. It is produced by beta cells in the pancreas and prevents hyperglycemia. Insulin binds to insulin-specific receptors on the cell membrane, resulting in increased glucose uptake by muscle and fat cells. Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human Insulin is an antibody that binds to human insulin and blocks its action, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. This antibody was immunised with human insulin and purified from mouse spleen cells. The antibody has been shown to block glycogen synthesis and fatty acid synthesis in vitro. Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human Insulin also has a high binding affinity for erythrocytes and penetrates these cells easily. When injected into humans, this antibody binds to the erythrocytes in the blood stream and prevents their passage through capillary walls into tissues such as muscle or fat cells, thereby preventing glycolysis (the conversion of glucose into energy) in those tissues
