4-Bromophenylhydrazine monohydrochloride (4BP) is a chemical intermediate used in organic synthesis. It reacts with amines to produce 4-bromoazobenzene, which has many uses in the production of pharmaceuticals and other fine chemicals. 4BP is also used as a reagent for the preparation of other compounds, such as barbituric acid and dibenzofuran. This compound has been shown to be useful for the preparation of complex compounds and it can be used as a building block for more complex structures.
