• Descrição: 3-Ferrocenoylpropionic Acid is a ferrocene derivative that has been used in the synthesis of podophyllotoxin, a plant-derived anticancer agent. 3-Ferrocenoylpropionic Acid has been shown to have a redox potential of -0.98 V vs. NHE at pH 7, which enables it to be reduced by glutathione reductase to form ferrocyanide and hydrogen peroxide. The compound also has anticancer activity against human cancer cells in culture and is an anthelmintic drug for the treatment of intestinal parasites such as haemonchus.
