Episerratenediol is a Chinese medicinal herb that has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on osteogenic genes. Episerratenediol is extracted from the root of Ganserma lucidum and Huperzia serrata, two herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. Episerratenediol can be found in the food composition of etoac extract, which is made from the seeds of Lycium chinense. The chemical structures of episerratenediol are unknown, but it is thought that it contains numerous phenolic acids.
