Ethyl 2-cyano-3-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]acrylate is a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. The compound is used in dyeing, printing and coating industries due to its low volatility and good stability. It is also used as an intermediate for organic syntheses. The solubility of ethyl 2-cyano-3-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]acrylate in organic solvents is limited, which causes the evaporation rate to be slow.
