3-[(Pyridin-3-ylmethyl)amino]propanoic acid dihydrochloride (3-AA) is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B), which is involved in the regulation of insulin secretion, glucose and lipid metabolism, and immune responses. 3-AA has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells by altering protein interactions. 3-AA is used as a research tool to study protein interactions.
