The cellular mechanism of BAY1161909 is CDK4/6 inhibition, which can lead to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. BAY1161909 has been shown to inhibit the growth of colon cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. BAY1161909 also showed potent antitumor activity in a mouse xenograft model of human melanoma, with efficacy equivalent to that observed with other anticancer drugs used for this indication.
