4E1RCAt is a small molecule inhibitor of the mcl-1 protein that has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. 4E1RCAt inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to apoptosis by activation of an energy-dependent pathway.
