Descrição:Ibiglustat is a heterobicyclic compound that inhibits the enzyme glucosylceramide synthase, which is involved in the synthesis of glycolipids and glycosphingolipids. It is used to treat Gaucher disease and Fabry disease. Ibiglustat has been shown to inhibit viral life cycles in cells by inhibiting viral protein synthesis and replication of viral nucleic acid. The drug also exerts an antiviral effect on influenza virus. Ibiglustat has been shown to be effective in clinical trials for the treatment of nephrology dialysis patients with advanced kidney disease. However, there are no clinical studies investigating the efficacy of ibiglustat in cancer therapy.
