Descrição:Ga11 is a mutant strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae that has been engineered to synthesize lactic acid. Ga11 has the ability to produce lactic acid in an aqueous environment with an acidic pH, which is a desirable trait for industrial applications. The regulatory domain of Ga11 is not active at the same time as its enzyme activities, leading to asymmetric synthesis and reduced production rates. This strain can be used for the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases, as well as for the production of chiral compounds such as pharmaceuticals and monoclonal antibodies.
