3-Methyl-1-phenyl-5-(quinolin-8-ylsulfanyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde is an organic compound that contains a pyrazole ring with a formyl group. It is used in the synthesis of coumarin derivatives. 3MPQCA can be synthesized by reacting 2,3,4,5,6 tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene with 8-(quinolin-8-ylsulfanyl)quinoline and sodium hydroxide in ethanol. The reaction can be performed in one step or two steps depending on the desired yield. This compound has antifungal activity against Candida albicans, Coccidioides immitis and Trichophyton mentagrophytes; however it is not active against Aspergillus niger. 3MPQCA is also known as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor and has been shown to inhibit the
