Ethyl 1-(2-aminoacetyl)piperidine-3-carboxylate hydrochloride binds to tropomyosin and inhibits the interaction of this protein with actin, thereby preventing the formation of the actin filament. This drug also has antiinflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis.
