LCL521 inhibits FAS, which is an enzyme that synthesizes long-chain fatty acids from acetyl-CoA. LCL521 also induces autophagy and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) production. These functions are important for tumor suppression and may be responsible for the antitumor effects observed in vitro.
