Pentyl benzoate is a propiophenone that is soluble in glycol ethers, film-forming polymers, and cationic polymerization. It has been used as an active substance in microcapsules and as a solvent for extracting other substances. Pentyl benzoate is also used to produce artificial resins with a structural formula of C6H11O2C4H8O2. In terms of particle size distribution, it can be classified as a particle that ranges from 0.1 to 1 micron in diameter. This compound is odorless and has a neutral ph value. It also has the ability to permeate through membranes due to its lipophilic properties. When mixed with benzene or other organic solvents, pentyl benzoate forms an isomeric mixture with no distinguishing properties from those compounds alone.
