Bromophos-methyl is a pesticide that is used to control insects. It is a mixture of sodium salts and nitrogen atoms, which are obtained by laser ablation. Bromophos-methyl has been shown to be effective against Anopheles mosquitoes, which carry malaria. The mechanism of action involves binding to the acetylcholinesterase enzyme at the active site and inhibiting the enzyme’s activity. This results in increased availability of acetylcholine, leading to paralysis and death of the mosquito. Bromophos-methyl has also been shown to be an effective insecticide for controlling cockroaches, fruit flies, and other agricultural pests.
