1-(Hydroxymethyl)cyclohex-3-en-1-yl]methanol is a chemical intermediate. It is a colorless liquid with a mild odor. This product has been shown to be catalytic in the reduction of acetone, epoxy, and polyols, as well as the epoxidation of olefins. The molecular weight of 1-(hydroxymethyl)cyclohex-3-en-1-yl]methanol is high and can be modified by adding different groups to it chemically. It is soluble in nitrate solvents and organic solvents such as acetone, ethanol, or ethylene glycol.
