N,N-Diethyl-O-nitroaniline is an organic solvent that is used as a channeling agent. It has been found to be a lubricant with low toxicity and good stability. The compound has been shown to have a nitrophenol, nitrobenzoic, inorganic acid, and sulfamic acid residue. It can be used in analytical methods for chemicals such as inorganic and fluorine compounds. N,N-Diethyl-O-nitroaniline can also be used as a dyestuff precursor because it reacts with nitric acid and carbon monoxide at high temperatures to produce the dye called "nitrodye."
