1-Methyl-2-phenylbenzimidazole is a hypervalent molecule that has been shown to be a photocurrent in the presence of light. It is used as a reagent in organic chemistry and has been shown to inhibit the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, specifically diploid strains. 1-Methyl-2-phenylbenzimidazole has not been found to have any significant interactions with other compounds and does not show any luminescent properties.
