Informação sobre produto
2,5-Dichloro-3,6-dimethylpyrazine is a reactive chlorine atom that can be used to deoxygenate various organic compounds. It reacts with the alkoxide ion to form an intermediate alkoxide radical, which then reacts with the oxidized compound to form a new organic product. 2,5-Dichloro-3,6-dimethylpyrazine reacts with chlorinated compounds such as trifluoroperacetic acid and chlorine gas to produce dichloromethyltrifluoroperacetic acid and dichloromethylchlorocarbanilic acid respectively. This chemical has shown potential for use in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
2,5-Dichloro-3,6-dimethylpyrazine is also able to react with alkaline solutions or hydroxides of metals such as sodium or potassium to produce hydrochloric or potassium chloride respectively.
