Informação sobre produto
3,4-Bis(benzyloxy)phenol is a natural product that was first synthesized in 1887. It is a synthetic compound that can be used as a research tool to study the biosynthesis of melanin. 3,4-Bis(benzyloxy)phenol inhibits tyrosinase, an enzyme responsible for the synthesis of melanin. Tyrosinase is inhibited by 3,4-bis(benzyloxy)phenol during oxidation of phenols and catechols to quinones. This inhibition causes a decrease in the production of melanin and may lead to lightening or whitening of skin. 3,4-Bis(benzyloxy)phenol has also been shown to inhibit other oxidative enzymes such as wedelolactone reductase and cyclooxygenases.
