Descrição:Dizocilpine is a drug that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and it is an antagonist of the NMDA receptor. It has been shown to decrease 5HT concentrations in brain tissue and reduce the number of bowel disease symptoms. Dizocilpine inhibits signal peptide processing of proteins and prevents their release from cells by inhibiting protein synthesis. It also has been found to antagonize NMDA receptors, which are enzymes involved in signal transmission between neurons. The NMDA receptor has been shown to be a target for pharmacological agents that have antidepressant effects. Dizocilpine is believed to have therapeutic properties for depression and bowel disease.
