PF-06454589 is a research tool which inhibits the ion channels by binding to them. It has been found to inhibit ligand-gated ion channels, such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and serotonin receptor 5HT3. The inhibition of these ion channels leads to an increased influx of ions into the cell, which can be harmful to cells. PF-06454589 also binds to peptide receptors, such as those that bind dopamine and serotonin, and has been shown to activate some of these receptors. This compound has been shown to have potential in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
