5-Bromo-8-fluoroquinoline-7-boronic acid is a nucleotide analogue that has been used as a sequencing probe to study the nucleic acids of E. coli and other bacteria. 5-Bromo-8-fluoroquinoline-7-boronic acid is an analog of guanosine, which binds to RNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication. The high frequency of human activity has been shown using a patch clamp technique on human erythrocytes.
