Informação sobre produto
1-[(4-Bromo-2-thienyl)methyl]piperazine (1BTMP) is a brominated piperazine derivative that is synthesized from 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyridine. It has been investigated as a potential anti-cancer agent because of its ability to selectively react with electrophilic groups on peptides. 1BTMP also preferentially reacts with nucleophiles at the carbonyl carbon in peptide bonds. This compound has been shown to have mesomeric properties and can exist as two different conformations. The carbonyl oxygen is involved in the formation of the reactive species that leads to this compound's electrophilic nature. When sodium nitrite and nitrite are present, they react with 1BTMP to form nitrosamines.
