Topiroxostat-d4 is a drug that inhibits xanthine oxidoreductase, an enzyme that is involved in the production of uric acid. Topiroxostat-d4 has been shown to reduce hyperuricemia and gout flares, as well as to reduce the incidence of congestive heart failure in patients with chronic kidney disease. Topiroxostat-d4 is a potent inhibitor of xanthine oxidoreductase, which is responsible for the synthesis of uric acid from xanthine and hypoxanthine. The drug can be used to treat hyperuricemia and gout flares, or to prevent congestive heart failure in patients with chronic kidney disease who are at risk for this condition. Topiroxostat-d4 binds to the active site of xanthine oxidoreductase and inhibits its activity. This binding prevents the formation of an enzyme-inhibitor complex with erythrocyte dihyd
