Descrição:CX6258 is a kinase inhibitor that selectively inhibits the serine/threonine kinase pim-1, which is involved in the induction of apoptosis. CX6258 has potent antitumor activity and minimal toxicity. It has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This agent also inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor, thereby preventing cell proliferation. CX6258 binds to the ATP-binding site on the ribosome and prevents protein synthesis by inhibiting the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosome. This drug also has potent structural similarity to one of its targets, Pim-1.
