DL-Alanyl-DL-serine is a natural drug that is generated by the hydrolysis of l-alanyl-l-glutamic acid and is found in many plants. It has been shown to have antihypertensive and antidiabetic effects. DL-Alanyl-DL-serine induces cell death by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins, which are vital for cell division. This agent also inhibits the growth of cancer cells, as well as bacterial and fungal infections, by inhibiting protein synthesis.
