Informação sobre produto
5-Methoxy-1-indanol is a substituted indane with antineoplastic activity. It is an epoxide that reacts with peracid to form a cyclic peracid, which has significant activity against some types of cancer cells. 5-Methoxy-1-indanol may be used in screening for potential anticancer drugs. This compound has been shown to have antineoplastic activity against breast and colorectal cancer cells. The mechanism of action of 5-methoxyindanol is through dehydrobromination, which generates the corresponding brominated alcohols. These brominated alcohols react with piperazine to produce the corresponding substituted piperazines, which are potent inhibitors of protein synthesis.
