4-[(Hydroxyimino)methyl]benzene-1,2-diol is a radical scavenger that has been shown to have potent inhibitory effects on the growth of leukemia cells in vitro. This compound is also a dihydroxybenzene derivative and can be synthesized from l1210 murine leukemia cells. 4-[(Hydoxyimino)methyl]benzene-1,2-diol has antioxidative properties and can be used as an anti-cancer agent. The effective dose of this compound is dependent on the form it is administered in (i.e., intravenous or oral). In vivo studies have shown that 4-[(hydroxyimino)methyl]benzene-1,2-diol can inhibit tumor formation and reduce metastasis.
