Informação sobre produto
- 2-Phenylpiperidine
Piperidine is an organic compound that is a constituent of many important drugs, including cisplatin, which is used in chemotherapy. Piperidine can be synthesized from the reaction of phenylmagnesium bromide with ammonia and ethyl acetate. 2-Phenylpiperidine hydrochloride is an imine that is used as a ligand in receptor binding studies. It binds to the Tachykinin receptor subtype 1 (TACR1) and inhibits the release of certain neurotransmitters.
2-Phenylpiperidine hydrochloride also has anticancer activity, and it has been shown to have better antitumor activity than cisplatin when administered with adriamycin. This drug was developed by modifying cisplatin's structure to create a novel drug that has the same mechanism of action but lacks the side effects associated with cisplatin, such as kidney toxicity.
