Menbutone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that is used to treat inflammation, allergies, and other inflammatory conditions. It is available as tablets or injections in the form of a solution that contains sodium citrate and water. Menbutone belongs to the group of chemically similar drugs called analogs. The most common side-effects are weight gain, fluid retention, high blood pressure, and mood swings. Menbutone has been shown to increase the production of creatine kinase in hepatic tissues.
