Informação sobre produto
- Bis(chloromethyl)sulfide
Bis(chloromethyl) sulfide is an analog of the antimicrobial agent, chloromethyl methyl sulfide. It is used as an active chemical in the Friedel-Crafts reaction to synthesize aryl halides from alkenes and chloroformates. Bis(chloromethyl) sulfide inhibits enzymes by binding to functional groups such as hydroxamic acids, which are involved in cellular metabolism pathways. This drug also has been shown to inhibit degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. Further, bis(chloromethyl) sulfide has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
