Informação sobre produto
4-Fluorobenzil is a fluorinated aromatic compound that is used as a solvent for xylene and benzene. It can also be used in the preparation of dyes, photoresists, and other organic compounds. 4-Fluorobenzil is commonly used to remove chlorine from hydrocarbons or to replace chloroform in organic synthesis. The compound reacts with nucleophiles by displacement of an electron pair from the carbon atom with a higher electronegativity than fluorine. This reaction can take place at room temperature in the presence of water or alcohols. The density of 4-fluorobenzyl chloride is 1.535 g/mL at 20°C, while its boiling point is 156°C at 760 mmHg pressure.
4-Fluorobenzil has a molecular weight of 133.19 and contains two functional groups: one chlorinated (chloride) and one hydroxyl (-OH).
