Informação sobre produto
Pyridin-2-yl acetate is an intermediate in the synthesis of prasugrel, a drug used to prevent cardiovascular events. It is a white solid that has a melting point of about 115°C and is soluble in organic solvents such as benzene and chloroform. Pyridin-2-yl acetate is also used for the preparation of diacetamide, an intermediate for fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Pyridin-2-yl acetate has been shown to be effective against influenza virus in vitro. The reaction products are chloride and acetaldehyde. This compound inhibits the replication of influenza virus by interfering with the process of viral protein synthesis at the ribosomal level.
