Trans-2,3-dichloro-1,4-dioxane is a cyclic compound that belongs to the group of hexacarbonyl compounds. It can be used as a reagent in organic chemistry for the synthesis of thiourea derivatives and other heterocyclic compounds. The trans form is more reactive than the cis form due to its higher electrophilicity. The chemical structure of trans-2,3-dichloro-1,4-dioxane is shown in Figure 1.
