Methyl 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)acrylate is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3COCH2C6H4OCH3. It has a boiling point of 121 °C and is soluble in water, alcohols, ethers, chloroform, and benzene. Methyl 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)acrylate is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. The molecule contains two asymmetric carbon atoms and can exist as either of two isomers: (E)-methyl 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)acrylate and (Z)-methyl 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)acrylate.
