3-Amino-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol is an antibacterial agent that is used to prevent corrosion in various industrial applications. This compound has a piperidine ring and a naphthamide group, which are both responsible for its antibacterial activity. 3-Amino-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol binds to the metal surface and prevents the adsorption of chloride ions by forming a layer of protection. It also has potentiodynamic polarization properties that are due to a diazenyl group. The adsorption isotherm can be used to determine the amount of 3-amino 1 phenyl 1 H pyrazol 5 ol present at equilibrium.
