Tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolizine-7a(5H)-methanamine is an analog of piracetam and has shown more potent activity in pharmacological tests. Tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolizine-7a(5H)-methanamine is also effective in the treatment of cerebral disorders such as Parkinson's disease, because it inhibits the formation of lactic acid which may contribute to these disorders.
