Tert-Butyl (2-bromophenyl)carbamate is an acetone derivative that can be used as a high yield, efficient and reusable catalyst for various reactions. It is a tert-butyl carbamate ester with a bromine atom on the phenyl ring. The tert-butyl group is more reactive than the methyl group and can react with amines to form tert-butyl amides. Tert-Butyl (2-bromophenyl)carbamate has been shown to be an adduct of acetone and perfluoroalkylethers. This compound also has been used in the reduction of ketones, alcohols, esters, nitro compounds, nitriles, and epoxides.
