- 4-(TERT-BUTOXYCARBONYLAMINO)-1-[(6-BROMOPYRIDIN-2-YL)METHYL]PIPERIDINE
Tert-Butyl 1-[(6-bromopyridin-2-yl)methyl]piperidin-4-ylcarbamate is a racemic mixture of two optical isomers, the (R)- and (S)-enantiomers. It is used in the clinical treatment of diabetes mellitus. It has been shown to have antihyperglycemic activity by acting as an agonist for the G protein coupled receptor (GPCR). Tert-Butyl 1-[(6-bromopyridin-2-yl)methyl]piperidin-4-ylcarbamate also acts as an antagonist at the dopamine D1 receptor. The tautomers of tertbutyl 1-[(6-bromopyridin-2-yl)methyl]piperidine 4-(carbamoyloxy) piperidine are geometrical isomers that are not interconvertible.
