The 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a powerful antituberculosis drug that falls under the category of rifamycins. The drug works by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, inhibiting transcription and replication, thereby preventing bacterial growth. Studies have shown its efficacy through patch-clamp techniques on human erythrocytes.
