DBCO-dPEG®12-MAL is a heterobifunctional PEG (polyethylene glycol) product that combines DBCO PEG and MAL PEG, which stands for maleimide PEG. This unique combination allows for versatile pegylation applications in various fields. The DBCO moiety provides a clickable handle that can react with azide-functionalized molecules, while the maleimide group enables conjugation with thiol-containing compounds.
With a molecular weight of 12 kDa, DBCO-dPEG®12-MAL offers an optimal balance between size and functionality. It provides an extended hydrophilic spacer that improves solubility and reduces steric hindrance during conjugation reactions.
