PHA 408 inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and AP-1. PHA 408 also inhibits the production of inflammatory prostaglandins and nitric oxide (NO). This drug has been shown to be effective in vivo treatment for inflammatory bowel disease.
