MK 0686 is a novel drug candidate that belongs to the class of conjugates. It is comprised of an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and a quinoline-2-carboxylic acid. This drug candidate also has the ability to form monoclonal antibodies when injected into humans or animals, which may be used for immunotherapy against various cancers. MK 0686 is catalysed by microsomal proteins, which are liver enzymes that break down foreign substances in the blood for disposal, and this process may affect how quickly this drug is absorbed into the bloodstream.
