Methyl Acetylacrylate is a monomer that can be polymerized to form polymethyl acrylate. Methyl Acetylacrylate is a cyclic compound that yields a buildup of molecules when reacted with an aminal. The transition temperature for this compound is between −40 and −50 degrees Celsius, which makes it useful in the production of polymers. Methyl Acetylacrylate has been shown to react with an aminal in order to produce a polymerized compound that is cross-linked and has a lower transition temperature than the original monomer.
