3-O-Acetyloleanolic acid is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of natural compounds. It is an ester of oleanolic acid and has been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects. 3-O-Acetyloleanolic acid inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are hormone-like substances that promote the formation of new blood vessels, and may be useful in treating cervical cancer. This compound has also been shown to have inhibitory effects on the production of fatty acids in cells by binding to acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl CoA) and inhibiting its conversion into fatty acids. 3-O-Acetyloleanolic acid binds to DNA, forming covalent bonds with guanine bases, which leads to inhibition of DNA replication.
