Informação sobre produto
1-Phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid (PPTC) is a potent inhibitor of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and then to uric acid. PPTC is a lead compound for the development of new drugs for the treatment of gout and hyperuricemia. It has inhibitory effects on xanthine oxidase in vitro and in vivo and can be used as an inhibitor or coadministered with other xanthine oxidase inhibitors such as febuxostat or allopurinol. PPTC inhibits both the production of uric acid by inhibiting xanthine oxidase activity and its renal excretion by binding to plasma proteins.
